Dear Parent/Guardian
We have been approached by the Parents Council, members of the public and residents of the surrounding house estates regarding the traffic in and around the main roads of the school.
To this end, we are requesting the help and assistance of the parents/guardians to
- Drop off, where possible, at the car park at the shore front. This will allow students to use the traffic lights to cross the road safely
- Not to drop off anywhere on St Oran’s Road
- Not to drop off in or at the entrance of St Oran’s Park
Over the coming week, we intend to have a ‘disembark area’ clearly marked. This area will run from the start of the Convent Building to the end of the Convent building which means that once you are in the area and the traffic flow as stopped, your child immediately gets out of the car.
Please urge your son/daughter to be extra vigilant when walking from the car to the school buildings. Please don’t walk in front of cars or behind cars, without due care and attention.
The purpose of this is exercise is to ensure that the health and safety of all our children so please, please be careful when driving and impress upon your child the necessity to be aware and cautious of the traffic at all times.
Reminder that the first bell goes at 8.45 am with class starting at 8.50 am. All students should, ideally, be on the school premises 10 minutes before the first bell. When the new attendance system comes on board, all students must mark themselves in upon arrival to school, once the clock hits 8.50 am and your child has not signed in then they will be marked as absent and will be required to sign in with senior management. For those who are just 'running late' it will be necessary to leave that little bit earlier in the morning. Further details regarding the new system will issue shortly.
