Uniform

Remember your proper school uniform and coat every day except Tuesday when you have PE. Then its your TY sweatshirt and dark bottoms, no alternatives please. Also for all trips etc students should make sure they are wearing their TY sweatshirt. Please let me know if you have any queries regarding this.

Work experience

Going through the TY forms for work experience there are still a number of forms that haven’t been handed in. Make sure you have yours in by Tuesday as we will be starting to call employers. You should also have your details filled into the google sheet.

TY Work Experience Session 2 2022

Fees

50 euro is due from the students going on Ms McCaffertys Careers trip. Please pay online or in the office as soon as possible. All students going on Ms Gorneys trip should have their money paid by now. We hope you have a great time.

Sign Language

The sign language instructor is coming on Monday 21st March from 3.20 - 4.30pm. It usually costs €15 for 6 weeks. This all depends on numbers. I have 20 names at the minute. Please add your name or remove it from the shared google sheet asap so I can confirm the price and numbers.

First Aid

First Aid is penciled in for March 29th all day.This is a certified course. Irish Red cross needs to confirm with their team that everyone is available on their end. The cost of this is included in your TY fee.

Careers Trip

Students attending Galway trip. Final reminder to please register with this link. We are attending on Friday March 25th. In with the chance to win prizes by registering also.

Self Defence & PE

Tuesday 15th - Boys GAA refereeing 2 - 4 in the hall

Girls class as normal 2 - 2.40, PE class as normal and reflection on self defence

Tuesday 22nd - Boys self defence 2 - 4 in the hall.

Girls class as normal 2 - 2.40, PE as normal outside / in the gy

John Paul Students

Remember you are off to knock for the day on March 22nd with Ms O’Connor. She is happy for non John Paul TY students to go also as it is a Youth Day organised by The Derry Diocese and all are welcome. The cost of the bus is €10 and they will leave at 7.45am. Please let Ms O’Connor know if you would like to go.

Swans Park Initiative

The display boards you have put together for this look great. Well done to everyone involved. Ms McGuinness is putting the group forward for the Donegal Garda Youth Awards. This was a great community initiative you have been working on. A representative from the Donegal County Council will visit the school on the 4th of April to talk to you about the work you have done and take a look at your boards.

Zumba

We are hoping to run zumba classes for you all on Tuesday 5th and thursday 7th of April.

Tug of War

The inter schools tug of war competition takes place on the 4th of April in Clonmany. Mr Campbell tells me we have 2 boys, 3 girls and a mixed team. Please make sure you get your practice in before this during your PE class or possibly arrange with the PE department to get some practice in at lunch time. It will be as much about Brains as Brawn on the day so make sure you have your strategy and technique honed before we go.

International Women's Day

Well done to all the students who worked on activities for International Women's Day and for the great powerpoint that you put together which was used by wellbeing teachers on the day.

Social Enterprise class

This group of students are going to be organising a Community wellbeing day in The Inishowen Gateway Hotel in conjunction with The School completion Programme. This is a great opportunity for these students. Get stuck in and enjoy the experience.

Do you love clothes and going shopping? Do you love when you get a good bargain?
