Work Experience

Students may finish your work experience this week if your employer doesn’t need you for Christmas week. Please don’t leave a business in the lurch if they are depending on you.

Students should have given your work experience the report to fill in last week so please pick it up from them this Wednesday and give it in as it counts for your credits. If you have it with you today please give it to your well being teachers.

Students should all have gotten a Scoil Mhuire thank you card to give to your employer also. Please give them a small gift of a box of chocolates or wine to accompany this, if you feel you can.

Everyone's Employer Report and Diary must be returned by Friday 17th December. Please upload the diary to the google classroom.

There will be new letters and documentation for your new work experience by the end of this week also. Everyone should now be sorted or actively looking for their new work experience for after Christmas.

Christmas Jumper Day

This Friday is Christmas jumper Day. All monies will be donated to charity. TY students will be organising this day. We need some posters advertising it so our Arty students need to get designing. It's 2 euro from everyone. Teachers are encouraged to dress up too. Prizes for the best dressed. We are obviously expecting TY students to make a big effort. Ms Whelan’s class has been asked to design some posters too so if we could get a volunteer from each class to liaise with Ms Whelan or Mr McAleer to see how that is going. We would need to get the posters copied in colour and put up asap.

Well done to Chloe and Leah Rose on their brilliant entries to the Soapbox competition with Europe Letterkenny. Leah Rose has won the Donegal heat and an IPad for herself. She will now go through to the National Final.

Congratulations to all the winners of the Trade Fair on Friday. These students will now go through to the NIFTE Programme and student enterprise programme finals. Please post your winning products on your social media and tag student enterprise.

Congratulations to Teighan McIntyre, our TY student from last year, who got through to the final of Junk Kouture. Please vote for her to win the audience prize. You can do this from our facebook or Instagram pages.

Reminder to our Safer Internet Day Ambassadors that their training takes place tomorrow.

Best of Luck to our TY Spanish students who are taking 1st and 2nd year Spanish students to the cinema to watch En Canto this week.

Best of Luck to our TY debaters who are taking part in their next concern debate on Thursday.

Hope to have a bit of a Christmas Photo Hunt on Thursday afternoon for you all. The weather doesn't look great though. If it’s too wet we will go next Tuesday 21st instead.

Can everyone please enter the competition now. Reminding you to enter this competition every week. The prizes are brilliant.

Can you also review your week in your TY Diary now. I need an evaluation of your trip away and the trade fair please.
