Student Council 2024/2025
Congratulations to the students who were recently elected to Scoil Mhuire's Student Council. The Student Council allows our students to use their voices collectively, work together as a group and to shed light on different areas of student life that can be improved. Most importantly however, they speak as students for students. Our thanks to Ms. O'Sullivan who is coordinator of the Student Council.

Past Pupil Success
Keri Loughrey
Scoil Mhuire is incredibly proud of our past pupil Keri Loughrey who completed her Leaving Certificate in 2024. She was recently named Sligo Rovers Women Player's Player of the Year. Keri has had a fantastic season with Sligo Rovers having picked up the Young Player of the Year award 12 months ago. Maith thú Keri!
Mark Coyle
Scoil Mhuire is also incredibly proud of our past pupil Mark Coyle who completed his Leaving Certificate in 2019. Mark is captain of the Shelbourne FC team that recently won the League of Ireland title. Mark was our guest speaker at our Prizegiving Ceremony last May. He spoke passionately to our students about the importance of hard work, not blaming others when things don't go your way and of being accountable for your actions. Mark is a great role model for our students and our community. We look forward to following Mark's continued success into the future.

Congratulations to Darel Badza who has been selected for the Inishowen Academy U15 Squad for the 2024/25 season. Well done Darel!

Scoil Mhuire in the USA
A huge words of thanks to the students and host families of St. Charles Missouri. Our students and staff had a wonderful experience during their 10 days in America. Our Scoil Mhuire team had a great opportunity to learn more about the Missouri education system and to build connections and friendships that will last a lifetime. We look forward to hosting the students and teachers of St. Charles Missouri when they come to Ireland in March 2025. Our sincere thanks to Ms. Corbett and Ms. McDermott for accompanying the students to the USA.
Tidy Towns Success
Everyone in Scoil Mhuire sends their warm congratulations to the Buncrana Tidy Towns committee and to all of the volunteers who have worked so hard to make Buncrana a great place to live. Buncrana Tidy Towns cleaned up in the SuperValu Tidy Towns awards recently and won a Gold award and the county prize for the third year in a row. Buncrana scored 383 points from the Tidy Towns judges and also picked up a highly commended certificate for the Local Authority Pollinator Award. Scoil Mhuire has partnered with Buncrana Tidy Towns on lots of projects over the years with teachers such as Ms. Dowds and Ms. McDermott. We look forward to continuing our work with this incredible bunch of volunteers.
Cli-Mates
Cli-Mates are continuing with their collection of used batteries. We have 5,000 batteries to date and we will recycle them safely through the company Weee Ireland. You are most welcome to send your batteries into us for the attention of Ms. Dowds or Ms. Doherty. This ensures they do not go to landfill where they can cause huge contamination to our soil and river systems.

Recycling and Fundraising for the Annual Senior Citizens Christmas Party
Ms. Carlin's Oasis class, in conjunction with Ms. Dowds and Ms. A. Doherty's Cli-Mates are asking you to look for the re-turn label on your bottle or can before you throw it in the bin. We are asking you to donate your empty bottles and cans to help us raise funds for our Annual Senior Citizens Party. Every bottle and can helps to make a difference.
