We are a group of TY Students in Scoil Mhuire, Buncrana and we are tackling plastic ocean pollution in our own special way.
How so? We're are creating Eco Bricks.
What are Eco Bricks? They are “Bricks” made from 2L plastic bottles that have been stuffed with soft plastics (not recyclable at present )to the point that they are completely solid and therefore able to be used as furniture.
We hope to use the furniture we create around the school, for example making tables and stools for the locker areas.
Now, how can you help? Well, as we all know, Christmas time is when plastic waste production is at its height. We may as well make use of said waste by creating Eco Bricks, while also preventing ocean pollution.
All you have to do is create your very own eco brick, using the tutorial linked below, and drop it into Ms Dowd’s room on the third floor. All donations gratefully accepted.
