TY Admin - 20th March

Parish League GAA

Three TY students will go up to Scoil Iosagain this morning to help out with coaching the Primary school students. This will be ongoing for the next few weeks. Some of the other local clubs will be looking for help also.

Young Whistlers

This introduction to refereeing will take place today for Mr Doherty’s Future Leaders class at 11.15am ( go to class as normal) This is a classroom based course. Mr Thompson's class will attend at 11.45am, classroom to be confirmed.

Google forms

It is important that we keep updating and improving the TY programme every year. We intend to introduce a couple of new subjects next year and need your input into what subjects might give. I have sent out a google form asking for your suggestions. Can everyone please take time and fill it in before we send subject choice out to our 3rd years.

Also I sent out a form asking for a review of the Soar workshop and the Bodywhys workshop. Please make sure we get this feedback also.

Subject Choice

Everyone should have their subject choice into Mr Davis. You do this via the parents section in Vsware. If you are still unsure and haven’t made the decision please read through the subject choice booklet, all the information is there. Also check out the posts in the Senior Cycle subjects Google Classroom. You can use the qualifax website mentioned in the classroom to help match subjects with courses and careers. Remember Ms Grant and Ms Dillion are also available to ask questions as they are both qualified careers teachers. Your subject teachers will also guide you through the process.

TY Chromebooks

Chromebooks are still not working 100 percent. Students need to put theirs back and plug them in so that they are ready when you need them. Please don’t use someone else's if yours is not charged. This causes a total knock on effect. Also don’t leave them lying around in class rooms. There is a new rota for sorting looking after them as follows

Belfast Trip

Details of the trip have been emailed to yourselves and your parents. If either haven’t seen a copy then please let me know. We will go through it now.

The rooms have been sorted as best as we can. You may not be sharing with your best buddy but it's only to sleep and is impossible to sort to everyone's requirements.

I am aware that there will be those delighted to have time to shop in Belfast and those that have no interest so I have put a link for the Victoria Square cinema in the Itinerary. They are doing a £5 ticket online for their Wednesday afternoon shows. Take a look and see what you think.

Poor behaviour will not be tolerated on this trip. It is a big undertaking to take a large group of students away and all rules are there for your safety and enjoyment.
